Article III - MEMBERSHIP

SECTION 1 - MEMBERSHIP ORIENTATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Prospective members wishing to join Oranco Bowmen MUST complete these requirements within a four-month period. Requirements shall consist of, but not be limited to:

Any Past member who wishes to return to the club who left in good standing may do so and be exempt from current membership requirements with approval of the Executive Board or Board of Directors.

All these must be completed before becoming a member with access to the range. Work party credits over and above initial membership requirements can be applied to next year’s dues. Scheduling conflicts will be taken into consideration with Board approval.

SECTION 2. TYPES OF MEMBERS

There shall be six (6) types of members; Individual, Family, Junior, Honorary, Special and Life. All Individual, Head of Household and Junior members shall be responsible for their CBH or NFAA dues. If a member does not have current membership, they will be dropped from the Oranco Bowmen roster. Lifetime and Special/Honorary members shall be members of CBH if they are active archers. If member is not active in archery, membership in CBH will be left to the discretion of the member with Board approval.

SECTION 3. INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

Any person who has attained his or her eighteenth birthday and is of good moral character and sportsmanship, may become a member of this corporation upon payment of the membership fee and approval for membership as hereinafter provided. Dependents (14) and younger are included.

SECTION 4. FAMILY MEMBERS

Upon payment of the membership fee (and approval for membership as hereinafter provided) all members of a family under the age of eighteen (18) or fulltime students taking at least (12) units may be included in the membership. However, the family membership may have only two (2) adult votes in the corporation. It is the intent of this section that members of a family are those domiciled together, or fulltime students up to the age of (22) domiciled away from home.

SECTION 5. JUNIOR MEMBERS

Any person under the age of eighteen (18), who is of good moral character and sportsmanship may become a junior member of this corporation (without voting power) upon payment of the membership fee, and approval for membership hereinafter provided. Adult supervision is mandatory. Exceptions may be granted by the board of directors.

SECTION 6. SPECIAL MEMBERSHIP

Special membership (may be exempt from annual fees and dues and with full rights and privileges of an individual membership) may be granted by a majority vote of a quorum of the Board of Director’s for a length of time as determined by the Board of Directors.

SECTION 7. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP

Honorary membership (with exemption from annual fees and dues with no voting rights or privileges except for use of the range) may be granted by a majority vote of a quorum of the Board of Director’s for a length of time as determined by the Board of Directors.

SECTION 8. LIFE MEMBERS

Life membership (with exemption from annual fees and dues, and with full rights and privileges of an individual membership) may be granted for exceptional merit and service to Oranco Bowmen by a 2/3 majority of the full Board of Directors.

Life Membership Recognition and Award will be presented at the annual awards banquet.

SECTION 9. DUES & FEES

Dues for the initial year of membership shall be prorated (see Attachment A) for all club members plus an initiation fee. Thereafter, the annual renewal dues may vary depending on participation in club work parties. The dues can be decreased to the base fee of $0.00 annually by working a total combination of three (3) activities for juniors, six (6) for individuals and eight (8) for families each year. “Attachment A” may be periodically adjusted by a 2/3 majority vote of the full Board of Directors.

All membership renewals are to be paid in full by June 1st of each fiscal year no matter the date the member joined. There will be no grace period. If dues are not paid on time, the member will be deemed delinquent and will need to pay a late fee (see Attachment A) along with the payment of their pro-rated delinquent dues. If there is a lapse of membership their anniversary date for determining years of consecutive membership will reflect the new date of membership. The work parties completed the year prior will remain on the books for one year and can be used if the member rejoins before a one-year lapse. The work parties will be deducted from the pro-rated dues for the month the member rejoins. If any member has more work parties than their renewal or pro-rated dues amount requires, the excess will be voided.

WORK PARTY is defined as: See Attachment B, which may be periodically adjusted by a 2/3 majority vote of the full Board of Directors.

SECTION 10. SUSPENSION OR EXPULSION

A Member may be suspended or expelled by a 2/3 majority vote of the full Board of Directors.

A Member of Oranco Bowmen may be suspended or expelled for cause including but not limited to any violation of any State or Federal Fish and Game Regulations or by conduct detrimental to Oranco Bowmen, its Members or archery in general.
